Hi Guys,
Below are the instructions for pathing an image in photoshop
1. Make sure the image mode of the image is RGB or CMYK. (Remember RGB for web and CMYK for print)
2. Unlock the layer of the image you are about to work with by double clicking on the layer.
3. Click on the Path tab
4. Click on the button in the top right hand corner of the palette. (It contains three smaller horizontal lines) and click New Path.
5. Select the Pen Tool from the toolbox (The keyboard shortcut for this is the p key)
6. Start drawing your path around the object. Remember you can bend the lines by holding the mouse button down and dragging out the mouse. (If you need to adjust the guides you can press the ALT key to drag them to the right direction)
7.When you get back to the start of your path click on the first pathing point you created. Your pen will show a little circle next to it when you are over the right point.
8. Right click on the path in the path palette and select Make Selection
9. Click on Select from the File menu and choose Inverse. This will select everything outside of the path you have just created (the background)
10. Press the delete button to delete the background
11. Click on Select again from the menu and choose Deselect.
Well done! You have just completed an image path and deleted the background of the image.
