Major Project - Theme Park

Hi Guys,

Below is the information I wrote on the board today about the project

Files need to be submitted in V:Drive. Make sure you save to your M:Drive, V:Drive and your USB at the end of every period. I lost my files is not an excuse when you need to hand them in.

RESEARCH
Spend about 20mins on this
Find images and logos for your theme park
Create a name for your theme park
Research 2 theme parks in Oz (your competition)
- Prices/Packages
- Rides
- Information about the park
- Maps

LEAFLET/BROCHURE
Create using Publisher
Use your research
4 page A5 booklet

POSTER
Create using Photoshop
Use the blend and blur effects
Bright and colourful. (It has to make people want to go to your theme park)
Use pleny of images
A3 or A4 in size

PRESENTATION
Create using Powerpoint or prezi.com
It needs to sell the idea of your park to me
Include images, prices, rides, services, location etc.

WEBSITE
"Teaser campaign"
Create using Dreamweaver or Google Sites
Needs navigation and 2 working pages
Include images, video (from YouTube)

REVIEW/EVALUATION
This will be done on your Blog.
An evaluation of the theme park you have created and all of the pieces of work you are handing in.

Dreamweaver - Thursday 2nd Sept

Hi Everyone,

I am away today but have left you some handouts to start introducing Dreamweaver. Work through the handouts and if you finish them have a play around with Dreamweaver to start creating some basic web pages.

The files that you will need to complete the handouts are in our folder on S:Drive

Thursday 12th August

Hi Everyone,

I am not here today but will back again tomorrow.

Period 1
You need to copy the Task 5 - Tutorial 4 folder from S:Drive and complete this in period 1. You will be working with some more masking effects.

Period 2
You will be given a handout which will be our first assessment task. The task is in two parts. You will only have time to start thinking about and designing Part 1 - the magazine cover, today. I will talk you through it more in class tomorrow.

Today I want to you to have a go at creating the Bourne Motion Blue effect that I spoke about in class last week.

Homework for the weekend (31st July)

Hi Everyone,

Your homework for the weekend if you did not finish it in class is as follows.

You need to create two new Blog Posts.

1. Add a new post and upload your new image created in Photoshop. Write a short paragraph about your image and what you learnt doing this task. What was your favourite part of completing this task?

2. Your second post is to investigate the differences between the following image types:
- JPEG
- PNG
- GIF

What are the differences between them?
Is one better than the other?
What do they stand for?
What does the term 'Lossy' mean?
